Mark wrote and produced this Bob Edwards interview with heavyweight boxing champ George Foreman. This excerpt is taken from a two part, fourteen-minute piece that ran on NPR’s Morning Edition. In this segment, Foreman remembers the “Rumble in the Jungle,” his unforgettable fight with Muhammad Ali in Zaire.

Mark reported from Baltimore’s Camden Yards when Oriole shortstop Cal Ripken broke Lou Gehrig’s long-standing record for consecutive baseball games played. This file is excerpted from a sound-rich seven-minute piece that aired on NPR’s Morning Edition.
Each Friday for twelve years, millions of listeners tuned in to hear legendary sports broadcaster Red Barber talk to Bob Edwards, host of NPR’s Morning Edition. Mark produced a decade’s worth of those segments, which were among NPR’s most popular recurring features. This clip is from a live event produced by Mark, in which the two broadcasters looked forward to Opening Day of the baseball season and took calls from listeners. Mark later produced a CD of the broadcast, titled “Opening Day with Bob and Red,” released on the NPR Classics label.

Here, guitarists Dickey Betts and Warren Haynes discuss the excitement and challenges of playing in the revitalized group, which won both critical acclaim and a new, younger audience amid the jam-band movement of the 1990s.

George Foreman Recalls Rumble with Ali
Mark interviewed 17-time Grammy-winning guitarist Pat Metheny and produced this feature for NPR’s Morning Edition. In this excerpt, Metheny describes the surprisingly intimate creative process for his sweeping album “Secret Story.” He also gives insight into how his early musical training on trumpet influences his guitar playing.

Here, Gillespie describes the importance of his collaborations with fellow bebop pioneer saxophonist Charlie “Yardbird” Parker, and John Lewis, pianist and composer for the Modern Jazz Quartet, weighs in on Dizzy’s contributions to jazz.
